Hello,
I was hoping for some input as to prefered grains when using a 5" barrel. I'm looking into getting some Federal HST's but I'm not sure of the pros and cons of the various bullet weights out of this length barrel. Are heavier grain bullets "better" out of a longer barrel? Thanks

First thing is HST is a modern bullet. It is not velocity dependant like first generation hollow points.
All of the old sayings like you need a lighter bullet or a +P round in a short barrel to make up for velocity loss are wrong. Shoot the weight that works best for you and your gun. |
