Question ammo for home defense that won't penetrate a wall ?

I have heard that there is a round for home defense that will not
penetrate a home wall but will penetrate a person. True ?

This would be of a great comfort knowing that if I missed (fat chance my intended target that my loved ones in the next room would not be in danger.

Thanks in advance.

Click the EFMJ when you go to this link:
Federal Premium Ballistics

The claim is it won't penetrate, but I would guess anything is possible. It most likely lessens the probability.

Let me correct myself. I linked you to the complete opposite of what you were looking for. Discard it.

There is no such thing. Any bullet that will not penetrate a wall will have poor penetration on a perp. It's just physics and it doesn't matter what some ammo company says their round will do in order to keep from penetrating the average wall in your home you have to give up something and that is penetration on target. There is no way around it at this time.

If you are really worried about penetration you might want to check out some shotguns. I am using 04 shot in mine. I don't think it will penetrate the drywall and still have enough power to kill someone. You lose some of the accuracy of a pistol, but at short ranges the shot pattern will not open up to much. IMO

less penetration in a wall = less penetration into organic tissue

Some rounds penetrate less "walls" but pretty much everything out there is going to penetrate more than one.

I thought I remmbered them developing, or at least trying to develop a non-penetrating bullet for air marshals. The bullet was designed to defragment upon a hard surface impact to prevent cabin decompression in the event of a target miss. But that it would penetrate body tissue, but still defragment once it hit bone which would also prevent a bullet from passing through a target and hitting a bystander or again penetrating the cabin of the plane.

Whether they have this bullet or if it's govt use only I am unsure.

Forget the Extreme Shock ****. The Glaser... maybe.

What you're looking for is probably a Federation phaser of some kind. Perhaps a type 3.
