Why is .32 and .380 so expensive?

I thought little bullet would be little price but not the case with these two. .32 is priced like .45 and .380 is priced like .357sig or .40. Why?

Probably due to the "economics of scale".
Those calibers are relatively slow sellers; so the cost to manufacture is not kept low by high volume production.

Yeah, they're expensive due to rarity. Fewer people demand them, fewer companies therefore produce them, and the ones who do can therefore get away with charging more. Simple economics, right there.

Also: I would be afraid of carrying anything less beefy than 9mm parabellum. I've seen too many .380 and .32Auto rounds bounce off of stuff to trust them. You want cheap plinking ammo, go with .22LR.

I agree but there are times when you need deep concealment and 9mm might just be a tad too big so the mouse guns are great.

Remember, a .22 is better than a stick.

Actually, if you're well-trained enough and circumstances are different, a stick might be better. You can apply enough force to actually put someone on the ground with a stick _AND_ it doesn't miss and hit the kid across the street.
