New Press

I have a chance to purchase a new reloading press. The down side is that I am on a budget. I have been using a Lee single stage, but find myself shooting more and need to get my hands on something with some more speed. I also have about 8 sets of Dies and various swages ect.

I looked at the Dillon Square Deal B, but ruled that out when I found out that it only uses Die sets from Dillon. I need to recycle as much of my old equipment as possible.

The current press(s) that I am looking at is a Lee progressive press, Lee Load Master or a Lee turret press such as the Classic or Deluxe. The focus on the Lee products is due to the price and the fact that they do not use dedicated dies such as the Dillon.

Thoughts or experience with the Lee press?

I have two Lee turret presses that have worked very well for me. They are completely set up with dies, etc for 40 and 45. PM me if you're interested.

The only reason I am not using them anymore is I just got a brand new Hornady LnL progressive.

If that's yours do you mind saying how much that whole set up cost? I'd have to guess somewhere north of $800.

Man that LNL is noice. I really need to go progressive and keep my single stager around for my future bolt gun projects.

Lee turret

vtachrn-since you already have the Lee dies, I would get the Lee turret classic. I have Lee stuff. It's good if your new or on a budget. I got a new LNL but my Lee dies don't work but i still have my Lee Classic on my bench and my old-style turret on a shelf(for 9mm, 223 and 30. Wait, got it wrong: Classic on shelf, turret on bench doing 5.56, 9mm & .38!

That kempf gunshop deal looks like a smoking deal. How well do rifle rounds do in progressive presses?

Just did some pricing and I know what I'm getting next payday.

I wish it were mine. After you said you bought a "Hornady LnL progressive", I searched it on youtube and that video popped up. I thought thats what you had going on over there..

Yeah I know, I bought my deluxe kit from cabellas which is not the cast classic kit, before someone posted the kempf deal. But for $110 shipped with dies I was not to upset. The cast kit will allow you to do some longer rifle cartridges.
