Reloading gear getting hard to come by
I'm probably preaching to the choir but have you all noticed how hard some relaoding gear and components are getting to come by? I've been looking for a Hornady LnL AP press for probably a month now. It's pretty difficult to come by .223 brass and bullets as well. The place where I buy primers and powder locally is almost always out of my particular powder/primers. When I finally come across brass and bullets in bulk I am gonna buy big time!

I made two calls and found the exact same press in stock in the Portland area. Sure I paid a bit more than the lowest mail order price, about $25 factoring in shipping charges, but I got it.
The Hornady L-N-L press is very popular right now. Of course the 1000 free bullets helps a lot. But it is a good press.
As for one place not having sufficient stock... well that's a very local problem.

Loading .223 is hard to find now, and in my area, its almost out of stock most the time, when they do order 100 bags of 100 bullets of .223 in a day or two, i'll get only 1 bag since they are sold out. Why is the .223 so popular?! i havent seen anyone shoot them at the range either....odd..they must be in the High power club up the range from where i shoot.....

Components for the .223/5.56mm, especially the 55 gr. FMJ bullet, are getting hard to find for the same reason the loaded ammo is getting hard to find and expensive. Bullet production, especially in this caliber, are going to the manufacture of loaded ammo for the GWOT.
Reloading components, for all calibers, are not as readily available as they used to be and have gotten more expensive . Given this, its best to buy in bulk if at all possible. I have been stocking up on all the components, to include primers and powder, as I can find them.
I don't see this situation getting any better in the future so buy as much as you can when you can so you can ensure you have a adequate supply for shooting and for contingencies if the supply dries up completely.

55 gr. bullets should be easy to come by it should be the 62 grn SS109s that are getting harder to come by. Since 55grn is issued to very select units now that are still fielding the A1 M16s such as certain air guard units some backwater national guard units and the like.

I was looking for small rifle primers at Sportsmans Warehouse and they only had two small boxes left. I might have to start ordering these things online...

Understand your point but what I meant was that I believe that the manufacturing capacity is being utilized to make bullets for military applications which in turn, reduces the capacity used for retail sales.

Military ramped up production is keeping up with GWOT. The real problem is the Barney Fife, Tacticool Commando syndrome that has swept the nation. The real ammo hogs are local departments that think that they need 12 guys in nomex balaclavas who couldn't take a leak without a flashlight and a laser sight on their Johnson to kick down the door of a little old lady because the local pothead says he bought his weed at a house that "started with a 2 or something" and the judge came to the front door in his Superman underoos at 2 a.m. and signed the warrant to get back to sleep. Training all these guys with AR-15s burns a lot of .223.
I'd go into greater detail, but I just noticed that I'm late for my medication.
