LEE 1000 LOADER- *TIP* about INCONSISTENT CHARGES
I read this and it also inspired me to make it happen. Your directions helped a lot. Thanks!
I wanted to add a fix about a problem I had. Once I got it setup and "figured it out" I was having significant problems with inconsistent charges from the autodisk setup. I setup for 6.0 grains and was happy for 5 or 6 rounds, then would have gradually shorter charges?
While surfing for a solution, I saw many bashing the autodisk for inconsistent measure! I FOUND A FIX that worked for me: Someone mentioned according to the Lee website, to wash it in warm soapy water and let it dry, then wipe it with down inside with a dryer sheet to reduce the static. Another satisfied user in the the same thread mentioned he also rubs the entire hopper and disks with graphite lube, or a #2 pencil lead, and it serves him sell, within .1gr every time.
SO-I did both last night- I took the hopper apart and cleaned it and the disk with warm soapy water and let it dry good. I wiped everything good with a dryer sheet- the entire hopper inside and out, along with lid and disk, then sprinkled graphite lube from kids pinewood derby car projects inside of the hopper and shook it with the lid on, and actuating the on / off of the hopper. I then did the same thing with the disk, coating it heaviliy and attempting to rub it in so it sticks. I blew everything off lightly to get rid of excess graphite and reassembled it. WELL IT WORKS AWESOME NOW! I loaded 500 rds last night and weighed 20 charges before starting. It was set up for 6.4 gr. I was either dead on at 6.4gr, or had 3 that were 6.3gr. I was hopeful, but cautious, but sporadic checks throughout the next 500 rds yielded the same results. Everytime I get 6.4gr or an occasional 6.3. Be sure to check your charges, and if you see them diminishing or falling off significantly, try this. It worked VERY well for me

Awesome tutorial. I have been contemplating reloading for a long time.
I am looking at buying the Lee 1000 for the 45. My question is, does it come with everything I need to start? I know it won't have bullets, primers, cases & powder, but equipment wise, is it ready to go? And I also want to reload for my 500 S&W, would I just have to buy a new plate and dies for the press? Thanks.

I too wanted to say thank you for the great advice, between this and the lee help video's I have reloaded over 2500 as of tonight. In fact I am purchasing my second press, a lee load master and I am eagerly awaiting it's arrival. Again thank you so much for the info, it has been an outstanding press and one I would recommended as long as they see this and other thread for tips and tricks.

Thank you!! Those instructions are horrid... I got to the point that I wanted to reload a round just so I could hang up the instructions and shoot at them... Great write up...

Anyone else have problems with binding at the priming station?
basically the primers are getting fed but not seated.
I checked and lubed the primer seater.
make sure no more than 100
tightened the shell holding spring(it was loose).
EDIT
I broke down the shell carrier and lubed it with powdered graphite including the primer tray and she works like a dream(for now).
