I have just purchased an XD 45ACP compact for conceal carry/home defense/shooting. I have had a few suggestions on a different thread about defensive ammo, but what would you all recommend for good range ammo that is not expensive and is decent ammo?

Blazer Brass in .45 is 11.97/50 here in GA, but everyone is talking about a price increase starting tomorrow (they've been saying that for 4 months).
Anyway, it's one of the cheapest rounds, even if the price does go up since all the other brands will likely go up too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have heard both good and bad things about the white box. A few thinks its good range ammo and others say the quality is not consistent enough. Any thoughts

I prefer blazer brass over winchester for some reason. I think it is a slight bit cleaner and seem to shoot it better for some reason.

Haven't shot the Blazer Brass but have shot the original aluminum cased Blazers, which should be virtually identical performance-wise, and had no problems. Also have shot WWB with no problems. These days though I reload my own so I don't buy much .45ACP unless I want to try a different JHP round.
