Lee Reloader

Anyone own or use a Lee progressive loader. Just getting into reloading and have heard good and bad things, I know the Dillion 550 is top of the line but don't have that much cash. Will be reloading 9mm, 38spl, and 45 acp.

I recommend you get a Lee turret press which is less complicated and cheaper. I can load 200rd/hour on 45acp. Their progessive press is a hit and miss with most reloaders and most people like the Lee classic turret press. Do a search in this forum.

IF you decide to go with a Lee watch their closeouts and you can pick up a refurbished loader in one of the calibers for alot less and their shipping is cheaper. They do not have any presses right now on their site so you might want to check back or call them.

Rember when you are pricing it out that you will not only need dies, shellplates and maybe turrets but you will also need the other primer system.

They have the stes with one die set and the loader, probably gonna start with 38 then buy the 9mm set, are the turrents easy to change? I know I will have to get a different primer set for the 9mm and the shellplate, what else would I need other than the dies?

I got the lee deluxe turret kit from Cabelas with dies 4 carbide dies for $110 shipped. I believe the lee safety prime for large and small primers is an additional $19.99

How many round have you reloaded? Did you have any set up problems? Sorry lot of questions but I would rather get advice from someone on this board than the others.

Got it yesterday and it took me a while to remember how things are suppossed to be set up. It really was easy, I just need to work on the auto indexing feature not aligning fully. Someone sent me a link to the lee website where they have videos of what is needed to get it correct. So far i have just deprimed a few hundred rounds and they went in the tumbler tonight. I stopped by a local reloader today and picked up 500 fmj and 500 cci primers and Winchester 231 for $68 out the door and will load them up tomorrow and get back to you. That is all the funds would allow for now. I know that the turret press is slower than a progressive, but for me I have not reloaded for 10 years and that was on my uncles 650 that he set up and all i did was put the case and bullet in and pull the handle. I have 2 weeks off (teacher) so I have plenty of time on my hands right now and dont mind cranking 2-3 hours a day.
