You actually bought 14oz. I think alot of guys believe they get such a bargain loading w/ clays then forget they come in 14oz bottles. ANyway, Clays just bugs me the way it reacts to small changes in bullet seating or switch in primers, etc. especially in small cap. cases like 9mm. The pressure curve is just way too stepp for my taste, but to each his own.

Yeah, I started with Clays because I didnt really want high velocity loads, and I heard it recommended as clean-burning. Turned out to be dirty as hell and quite sensitive to changes (as you mentioned). I'm really happy with WST so far... It meters quite nicely and burns cleaner than anything I've ever shot. Gonna be a damn shame if i have to send the Sig in... mabey I can get them to just send me a new extractor... cant be too hard to install.

VV n310 clean works great loaded light (Don't use with lead)
Universal clays is very clean but cannot light load it.
Tite group( not bad) is way easier to find around here than and win powder.

I'm really new to this and haven't got my reloading bench set up yet, but my gunsmith says he really like Unique. I bought a pound each of Bullseye and 231, but haven't tried either one yet. I'll be using them with some of the free bullets I got from Hornady.

Is there anything specific I need to look for, when shooting after reloading, and does anyone have any good data when reloading with either of these powders? Things like primers and grains of powder, etc. Thanks in advance for any info.

Get yourself a good, reputable reloading manual (Lymans, Nosler, etc.), and it'll probably have data for your powder/bullet selection (also, websites like http://www.hodgdon.com/ have huge amounts of handload data). If you're loading .45 ACP, only use standard large pistol primers (NOT magnum large pistol primers). Start with the charge weight they recommend to start with and work up from there.

Huh? Vihtavuori N310 is the fastest and cleanest burning powder available in the U.S. It works great for 200 LSWC or 230 RNL or many other loads in 9/40/45. I have been using it for years and have over 20,000 rds of N310/200 LSWC through my Wilson CQB alone. Clays can be loaded light as easy as Viht but it's a very smoky and dirty powder. In FMJ loads, I usually like N320.

Fast and clean powders for 45 ACP: N310, N320, Red Dot

Well, I was "trying something new," so I didn't want to buy bulk until I knew it worked well and I liked it. Man am I happy I bought a small container!

You neeed to do alooot of reading before you put your first cartridge together. I recommend at least two handloading manuals for cross referenceing. Read them through & you'll have a better understanding. Start your loads just above the starting charge & work up to an accurate, safe load.
