Primer and no bullet....

I tried this one time to get rid of a primered case and to see what it was like. Just like DanThe Eldest said, except I put the muzzle into some rags. You guessed it, the embers set the rags smoldering.

i do this all the time, i make wax bullets with paraffin wax. It doesnt cycle the xd, but i can hit a coke can 20 yards in my backyard.

oh and it hurts like hell, about as bad as a paintball

if you do the wax bullets, just make sure to give your barrel a good cleaning afterwords

My aunt was a stagehand for CBS on the set of Cover-Up when that happened. There was a lot of carelessness with prop guns back in the 70's & 80's. This incident was one that set-up a lot of changes on how and who can handle prop guns.

Yup. I tried this in a .45 ACP revolver and had to use a rubber mallet to get the cylinder out.
