.25 Auto help
Looking for some Hot .25 auto ammunition.
Yes, I know, I know, 25 auto?
Before I'm chastized, It's for my mother. She has a Beretta Tomcat that she carries. I don't like the caliber, but I'm glad she's at least carrying something. At least she has 10 shots to accomplish her mission.
Anyways, I've never bought .25 ammo and am sure the choices are limited. So if anyone has knowledge of brands and possible ballistic information, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks guy.

d'oh, well I see that Speer actually has .25 auto in Gold Dot. I'm sure that's a great place to start. Hope it feeds reliably in the pistol.

I've got an extra box of Speer GD's in 25 auto that was sent to me by mistake on an ammo order I made a few months back.. Don't remember where I put it tho, otherwise I'd send it to ya.. If I find it I'll pm you.

In 25 auto you are best off with ball ammo. The cartridge does not have the power to make a bullet expand and penetrate so if you can only have one or the other go with penetration. Also the Tomcat is in 32 and 380 not 25 auto perhaps you meant a bobcat.

Somebody needs to make incendiary .25Atuo rounds. THEN it'll be a respectable bullet. A bullet that sets people on fire.
Or perhaps make it a neurotoxin bullet... so it makes people fall down and hemorrhage their spines out.

a lot of the European manufacturers load hotter than US companies. For example: Fiocchi, Sellier & Bellot. Both are available from Cabela's catalog or from CTD if you're outside Texas. I hate to pay tax on shipping charges!

Unfortunately I'm a TX resident, it SUCKS sometimes.
I just went with a FMJ, at that slow velocity, nothing would expand too much and clothing would probably clog the HP.

your better off with FMJ ammo otherwise it wont penetrate deep enough.
deep penetration is allways first
then you worrie about expantion,
a 25 cal that pentrates 10 inches is better then an bullet expanded to .35 cal and only penetrates lets say 4 inches,
now those numbers are made up but you get the point.
ill look for some ammo tests and i will post them if i can find some good ones.
