.38 Spl 148 HBWC
This might be the wrong forum, but I'm trying to find a supply (or supplier) of 148 Grain HBWC bullets (not loaded) to use in PPC competition with my S&W .38 Spl.
I used Star bullets out of Indianapolis for many years, but of course, they're no longer in business, but that's the quality I'm looking for. I like to buy in large lots.

I don;t know anyone that casts them, too slow, but several manuf. still swage them. Remigton, Speer & Hornady. I also believe Berry's or Ranier make a plated HBWC.

Hornady and Speer both sell good quality swaged HBWCs. Using my Ruger GP100, I've put both brands into groups under 1/2" at 25 yards (scoped off a bench, of course) and have several PPC trophies I won using them. I actually ended up changing over to hand-cast button-nosed wadcutters after a couple years to save money and got identical performance, but if I didn't cast, I'd still shoot whichever of the two factory bullets I could get cheapest.

Thanks guys.
I knew about Hornady and a local dealer has those in stock, maybe that will be my first test. I also want to try the Speer since I've heard rumors that they bought out Star. I'm avoiding the Remington because I've heard so many guys complain about how dirty they are. If none of the above work I may try them. Has anyone tried the Zero bullets?
