Break-free and ammo

Can/will Break-free CLP ruin ammo?

I bought an Ultimate Cliploader for Ruger MkII mags and with lead bullets you need a bit of lube. Gun oil I know will ruin ammo, but this stuff?

In one word - Yes. Any cleaner/lubricant can (and most likely will, if over-lubed) contaminate the powder (and primer in a centerfire) and cause a FTF. Just don't soak your rounds in the stuff and you'll be fine! I lube my MKII normally when at the range (drop here, drop there) and have never had an issue. This is more of an issue for carry weapons where people have over-lubed and left the ammo in the weapon, causing the extra lube to penetrate into the round, contaminating the powder/primer.

To answer your question, check out this web site. www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot39.htm This tends to dispute most peoples thoughts on the matter.

Thanks mingomike, I just love the boys from BOT. They beat the boys from Dover any day.
