308 1 in 10
ok so i was at cabelas yesterday and i asked a guy that works there what was the heavyist round i could use in a 308 with a 1 in 10 twist and he told me 165 and even that is pushing it. that just didnt seem right what do you guys think

I think he's full of it. the faster twist stabilizes the heavier bullets.
1 in 12 is more common, but 1 in 10 would be btter for the bigger bullets

Correct, a faster twist rate generally means a heavier bullet will be more accurate. The guy at cabela's had no idea what he was talking about.

what the hell i cant imagine how many people take their advise without double checking and end up getting the wrong idea when doing something.they also told me the plactic frame on my p22 which DOES NOT have s/n on it that i had to get a backround check on it to order a new one

with 1 in 10 you should be able to shoot the big boys. I think he had it backwards.
