New press??

Since getting back into reloading a few weeks ago i ahev been very happy with my early 90's vintage pro 1000. problem is mine has a 9mm only shellplate and after adding up the parts to load 40 and 45 I may as well get a new press.

i perfer a true progressive like my lee that rotates the shell plate automaticly.

Any suggestions on what I should get?another lee perhaps?

Dillon RL 650 is mechanically indexed. Pricey I know. But high volume shooters/reloaders seem to swear by it

The Dillon 550 with a case feeder is plenty fast too and makes caliber changes easier than the 650 but you index it by hand. Its really not much slower though. I can VERY comfortably crank out 500 rounds an hour and many more if I want.

Since you have used Lee before, a new Pro 1000 fully loaded can be had for about $130 (midway or wideners most likely, plus shipping) The Lee Loadmaster runs about $200 plus shipping (again try midway). You can watch the Lee site itself as well as they have been selling refurbed Pro 1000 units for about $100 lately if you can catch them.

I'd also give serious thought to the Hornady Lock and Load AP if you want to try something new.

I think most guys just buy another Lee. Me, I have two 550Bs & they are plenty fast w/o the case feeder. You can easily load 450/hr. Since I rarely load for more than an hour at a time, the higher speed offered by the auto indexing is offset buy the more complicated equip. & caliber changes. Your money though so your decision.

Take a look at this: http://anarchangel.blogspot.com/2007...d-vs-blue.html

I really like my Lee although I will admit that sometimes it feels a little jerky when I'm loading rounds.

Look at these entries in specific.

Might be a good option if you're only thinking of Lee v. Dillon. I do like their lock and load die holders, what an awesome concept.
