I bought some .45 a couple of weeks ago and the bulk ammo that I bought was the Ultra Max they also had Wolf. I have never tried Wolf because of the feeding issues people told me about with the double stack mags. I have shot about 1000 rounds of the Ultra Max and never had a problem with it but it is a factory reload it does run a little on the dirty side but not to bad.

I hope you're just trying to be funny. Generally when people talk about ammo being dirty it is the residue left after firing.

From what I've read, their "bulk" ammo is just as expensive as what you can buy from the box... Their "free ammo box" isn't free when you're spending $30/100 rounds...

I'd check around... You can usually find sales on the 100 pack boxes every now and again for cheaper than that!

Wow they have one hell of a deal on .454 casull! It ends up being around $10 a box of 20!

If I had some money I'd get in on that deal ASAP.

Yes i'm kidding I've been around guns since I was a wee lad. However what would cause the leftover residue slower burning gun powder?

The cheapest I've found .45 FMJ is at Wal Mart. The WWB is around $29 plus tax for 100 rds, and Remington green box 230gr JHP are $32 per/100.

If it is cheaper online, it better be real cheap, cause by the time you add shipping it makes it considerably higher.

Anybody beat the Wal Mart price?

After paying the $99.00 for 300 rounds at Cabelas. I ordered 500 rounds from Sportsmans Guide for $128.00 and that was Fiocci. And My 100 rounds of 230 gr. Hydra Shocks will be here Thursday I ordered those from Ammunition To Go. That cost including shipping $54.20 and that is about half the price of 100 at the gun shop. My wife works at Wal Mart so I get a 10% discount and use it when every they have .45 ammo instock but they never seem to have any.

What I consider dirty is usually cause by not enough initial pressure being generated to seal the firing chamber, slower burning powders can contribute to that condition. With Wolf ammo the steel case being harder than brass may not expand enough to fully seal the chamber allowing gas to blow back. I can't really say as I do not ever remember using Wolf ammo in anything. I pretty much reload all my 45ACP and if I buy any I like Blazer Brass from WalMart. I have used Ultra Max and don't remember having any problems with it either.
