Walmart ammo question

bought some ammo from Walmart only to find out ammo was much cheaper at Dick's due to sale. What can I do? Can I ask for price matching. Ammo is not the same kind but UMC should be slightly higher than WWB.

bought WWB at Walmart for 29 for + tax for 100 rds of .45. Dick's UMC is 12 + tax for 50 rds.

what're my option. i know i can't return ammo, but they should price match right.

since they are so much over Dick's, I went ahead and bought 4000 rds and box them up for long term storage. I am done buying ammo and will learn to reload using brass from the few hundreds rounds of .40, .45, and .357 SIG I have lying around. All other brand new ammo go straight to preservation for future generations as only the selected elite may be able to afford ammo 20 years from now.

Never heard of Wally World "price matching" ammo, it seems a little late to ask, since you already bought the ammo. I stopped buying WWB for .45 when it reached 27.97 a box, Blazer Brass at the same store is 23.94 (2 x 11.97/50rnds) and that's even getting a little rich for me

Consider your purchase a "learning experience" and move on to re-loading like you suggested and I will be doing as well.

+1

And the fact that it is even different brands, there would be no chance of price matching.

ditto. some stores will price match after the sale, but i'm not sure in Walmart is one of them. in any case, like Jonny said, since they're different brands there is no way any place would do that. it's not going to make much sense to say "but X brand should be cheaper than Y brand, so i'd like some money back."

I didn't know you can't return ammo. I'd just hold onto it for later. When prices go up in Sept, you'll be glad you bought that ammo at the "old" price.

It would be like asking to price match a Kimber Super Match II ($1700) at the price of a Taurus PT 1911 ($488 on gunbroker). If you owned the gun shop selling the Kimber, would you do it?

FYI - I think all Dick's have a 'no returns' policy on ammo.

It is a liability thing as an ahole could repackage bad loads and put them back onto the shelf.
