Question Cabela's bulk .40 ammo... decent?

Once again Im new to this game... so I appreciate any help or info.

Just looking around I found Cabela's bulk .40 S&W ammo. 300rds/$69.99, 600rds/$134.99, or 1200rds/$259.99. Is this pretty decent stuff to play around with? Any place I can find a better deal?

They also have my .357sig available 300rds/$89.99, 600rds/$169.99, and 1200rds/$329.99.

On the topic of ammo... can someone explain to me the +p designations? I understand it means a hotter load but I notice there is +p+ and so on. Can I get a .357sig in +p or better? How about the .40s&w in +p?

Thanks!

I generally use Cabelas as the high price end of........almost anything! +P is great, if you think you're going to be shooting thru things like doors and windshields.

I noticed after reading a little more that Cabelas was higher priced, bummer!

Where is a good place to get cheap bulk? From what Ive read so far maybe WalMart?

About the +P.... I want a hotter round to carry when we are hiking. The possibility of bears and me only having a choice of .40 or .357sig right now makes me want to have as much punch as possible.

Thanks!

For just plain 'ole FMJ .40 & .45 in the WWB Party Pack (100 rds), Walmart is about the cheapest I've seen.

I checked my local WalMart today.. .40 WWB 100rds is $21.88. Is that an acceptable price?

Blazer Brass at WalMart is cheaper than the WWB by about 2$+ per 100.
XD's eat the stuff like candy.
My last purchase was $9.97 per box of 50.

they dont make +p for 50 or 357 since they are allread at the uper threshold of pressure they can take or at least SAMMI doesnt have a +p standard for those two so any 40+p is unregulated and you have no idea what the pressure is or if its safe for your gun or if it is even strager then standard ammo

Cabela's is high on most everything. I buy mostly from Walmart or Academy. They are about as cheap as you will find.

Check out Sportsmans Guide they have some decent prices on ammo. If you become a memeber you get 5% off of ammo.

Thanks..

I went by WalMart today and found some Blazer Brass... same price you mentioned. Bought a couple boxes... maybe I should grab more?

Is the price of ammo expected to keep rising by a bunch? If so Ill go buy a ton more right now.
