I read several letters from the major companies saying that the Sept. 1st increase would be from 5 to 25%. This was CCI, Winchester, Federal, and Remington. Go to Natchezss.com to read the letters.

I have wondered if this is a yearly scare tactic for people to stock up. Any ideas? (i'm still planning on stocking up)

I don't know when you last bought reloading supplies, but they are also going up proportionately.

If you somehow think that reloading is going save you any of these increases (percentage / proportionately) your sadly mistaken.

Repeat after me, handloaded ammo is ALWAYS cheaper than factory ammo. No, not mistaken at all. Sure the cost of components are going up &but, you can "invest" in enough components to mauf. 1000s of rounds for 1/4 to 1/2 as much as factroy ammo. I also don't see a proportional increase between components & ammo. The other upside is your handloaded ammo is almost always of better quality than WWB or UMC or Wolf. My point is you are better off investing in a quality handloading setup than ammo. For 2K of any cf pistol ammo, you can buy a good reloading setup. Then it's 1/2 price ammo baby!

Increased costs. This is the second of three scheduled increases for 2007.

Dicks running ammo sale again.

9mm for 6.98 per box if you buy 10 boxes.
45 ACP 11.98 per box if you buy 10 boxes.

40 S&W on sale too, but can't recall the price.

It's the Remington Green box stuff (230 FMJ in 45).

About the same price as the Blazer Brass is at Wal-Mart when they have it.
