Winchester SXT vs. Ranger-T...what's the diff?

This is a discussion on Winchester SXT vs. Ranger-T...what's the diff? within the The Ammo Can forums, part of the Armory Talk category; Simple question, what is the difference between these 2 rounds? I have been using the SXT's with satisfactory results, and am curious. Thanks....

Ranger SXT uses the old Black Talon SXT bullet. There are some changes with the powder and primer but still pretty much the same as the BT.

Ranger T-Series still uses the SXT design but it was upgraded to work in a larger window of velocities. Since it would work both in full and compact guns it no longer need the black lubalux coat to help with velocity.

There are two types of Winchester that say SXT on the box.

One is the Winchester Ranger-T law enforcement design that has the teeth. That says SXT on the box.

The civilian version that you can buy at Bass Pro or Sportsman's Warehouse is not the same bullet design, even tough it says SXT on the box as well.

The LE design is far better.
