Primers

Where do you order your primers online ? I was looking and they are $25-$28 per 1000 plus shipping and hazmat charges. The local walmart sells them for $2.72 per 100.

powder valley has great prices ($92/5K), but you have to order enough to cover hazmat ($20). Order some powder & primers to combine your hazmat & save some $$$$.

In my MidwayUSA catalog I noticed that they had MagTech's for $89.99 for a case (5,000). About $20 cheaper than the Winchester, Federal, CCI stuff. I checked Brain Enos' site (which I lurk) and haven't heard any real complaints about them either. So for $20 cheaper (HAZMAT fee, right there) and no bad reviews they sound like the clear winner. Just my nickel minus $0.03.

For $2 more you can get CCI from PV. Plus, Midway does NOT allow you to combine powder & primers in one order to save hazmat & Midway's shipping is always more.

I'll remember that. Just pointing out what I saw. My fault.

I'd have to give CCI another chance as I've had about 30-50 primers not go off after 2 strikes (same batch though). Only 1 with Winchester. And none if I can recall with Federal.

Primers are one of the very few reasons that I find for going to gun shows. I don't buy them online because I can usually get better prices at a show.

My same reasoning, JD. At the shows here, at least in Pasadena, they will only have 1 or 2 sleeves(5000) to buy and they sell them for the same price as by the box(1000)!

Shows around here charge $24 per 1000 of Winchester.

So I can order 10000 primers from Powder Valley and still be cheaper then a show and save gas, parking, and entrance fee money.

10000 Primers 2x$97.50
Hazmat $20
Shipping $20 (I think that's overestimated)
Total $235

$235/10 = $23.50

and I don't even have to leave my house

My last order from PV was 5K CCISP, 2K CCIBRLR, 6# of powder. The total shipping was only $11 & $20hazmat. Spread across the order, I saved almost $5 on each pound of powder & 1K of primers.
