You guys and gals probably remember one
of my earlier posts on this thread - Shot shells
at W/W for $41 or so dollars. Well, me got some
inside info and it is not what I want to share, but
here goes:

Shot shells are expected to rise in price nearly
two fold. In other words, double in price.

Now is the time to buy them...not next week,
NOW!

I stopped at my Wal-mart for the first time since The Great Ammo Price Hike of Sept 1 2007. Lo and behold, the prices haven't changed. CCI Blazer Brass in 9mm is still $7.67, .40S&W is still $7.57 and .45ACP is still $9.47. If I didn't have 7 cases of ammo, I would've bought some more.

thats an unheard of price!

At the Wal-mart here in Westland Michigan, about a month ago .45 ACP (Winch. White box bulk pack) was $29.00 for 100 rounds, and 9mm was going for $16.72 for 100 rounds!

I took a class and needed 800 rounds of factory ammo, you can guess I shot my 9mm for that one!

The price increase has slammed us reloaders as well, but its still much less expensive to make your own.

Question question about Wolf ammo

I have heard rumors about Wolf ammo, the kind with the steel cases coated with enamel.

The rumors are that after you shoot these for a while, the enamel gets hot, coats the chamber, and causes the cases to stick really badly. This in turn can cause extremely high chamber pressures, which can cause catastrophic failures ( guns going boom and pieces flying).

I guess the enamel coating is very hard to remove during cleaning, which is why it builds up so much. Normal solvents don't cut it loose i'm told.

Does anyone have any personal experience with this ammo? The prices i have seen for it are much lower than other brands of range ammo, but I have no wish to destroy a gun just to save a little $$.

Besides, the cases aren't reloadable, they are berdan primed?

Any comments on this?

Glad to see that we are all still stocking up. I need to go to wally world tomorrow for this weeks buy. I have bought one to two boxes since this post started and dont plan to stop anytime soon. Right now just trying to stock up on 9mm and .40 and .38 spl

Then I will move on to other rounds but have a long way to go. Cant seem to get enough 9 and 40 as for each trip to the range I shoot a couple hundred of each. one step forward and two back

Stopped at Wally World and they didn't have anything on sale. So I drove over to Gander and they were pushing slugs so I bought a couple of boxes of Brenneke KO Slugs at $1.58 a box which was affordable!

I guess I'll keep them for SHTF day. LOL!

Bree, if I recall correctly, Brenneke had
a very recent recall. Might want to check
it out. They had some bad ammo get out.

Yeah I saw that. It only affects Brenneke GMBH. Brenneke USA slugs are not being recalled.

Picked up 4 Federal .22 Bulk packs. 2200 rounds. Been shooting a lot more .22 lately since the price increases.

Can't wait 'til Advantage Arms releases the .22 XD Conversion Kits.
