For real, my sporting goods manager at
the local W/M with whom I have known for
over 14 years, confirmed that she had
received a memo which alerted her to an
increase of ammo prices on 09-01-07.

It just might have been a collaboration of
the big Four in ammo production to have
been raising the prices to the distributors
slightly, over the last year, just as with gas
prices, to get us used to paying the high
prices. I kicked around the 20-25% during
our conversation, and she hinted that it
was right on target.

So a box a week ain't such a bad suggestion
after all.

I only got 2 boxes of 100 rd .45ACP today
to fire down the snoot of my Taurus PT145
MilPro. Still breaking it in! Shooting one,
saving one for later.

I'd heard about that as well. Our club was looking at buying as much as we could swing before then since we have a fixed budget so we could get the most for our money.

Hopefully SGA will bite and let us spend some of out money before the school year starts.

It's not so much a collaboration among the big 4 as it is that they all negotiate contracts for raw materials on a quarterly basis. With the worldwide increase in price of lead, copper, brass and other metals, like any other business, they adjust pricing accordingly when their costs go up.

As much as I hate to shop at Walmar....I'm gonna hafta stop in soon. I'm runnin way low on 9mm and .223. I'd like to have at least an ammo can full just in case shtf.
I do need to grab some kinda shotgun shells tho....they're more affordable...I'm pretty sure they still have the "brick" of shells for somethin like $15.
Squirrel season's comin up!

nic nice - that is a darn good idea on the
'rain check' bit. We all should start using
that one, buy latter at today's pricing.

DEMAND A RAIN CHECK!

Walmart has been out of several good rounds. I can't find the hydrashoks anywhere right now. I did pick up a box from the gun show but I'd like more to stock up.

Hey, Nic, since we live across the street from one another basically we should do a group buy and get 1000 range rounds.

It's Monday. Time to buy ammo again.
5 boxes of CCI Blazer Brass .40 at $7.57 each
3 boxes of CCI Blazer Brass .45 at $9.47 each
I complained about them not having the key to the ammo cabinet available when the one single person who works the Sporting Goods section goes to lunch.

I'll probably get a case of 9mm at Academy next week.
