Website or Poll Best Defensive .45 Ammo
Does anyone know of a website or a poll done on this forum that list what people consider the best defensive ammo for 45acp? I want to try the top ammos in my XD Compact .45 to see which functions the best in my weapon. So far I have a list that consist of Cor Bon, Federal Hydrashok, Speer Gold Dot and Remington Gold Saber. If anyone has any suggestion of defensive ammo let me know. Thanks in advance.

Federal HST & WW Ranger or SXT. They're all pretty good. Go with the one that is most reliable then most accurate. I have little use for "the best" JHP if it isn't 100% reliable & delivers at least acceptable accuracy, which for me is 2" @ 15yds.

Federal HST?
What does HST mean? I looked at the Federal website and did not see pistol ammo labeled HST. Any info on this ammo is appreciated.

Winchester Ranger, LEO?
I had forgotten about Winchester SXT. I thought Winchester Ranger ammo was available for LEO.

Federal HST is a replacement for HydraShok (so I have read) and it is definitely different. It no longer has the center post and is serrated so that it "flowers" upon expansion. Looks pretty much like the Ranger SXT.
HST is designated as a "Law Enforcement" ammo but it is available for the public through ammo dealers that do not have contracts to supply it only to LE. Federal HST, Ranger T's, Gold Dot's and Corbon DPX are all great rounds for SD they all penetrate and expand excellent.

LEO Ammo?
The information concerning LEO ammo was very informative. I thought that there was a law that prevented me from buying such ammo. Now that I know better I will try to attain some of the higher quality ammo for my SD purposes. Thanks again.

Ranger T's?
Is the Ranger Ts different from the Winchester SXTs? Does the Rangers have the word "Ranger" on the box. I am able to purchase Winchester SXT and want to make sure what to look for on the box.
