I have some new 200 SWCs that I am testing in my TRP and most of them are keyholing.

I have shot 185 SWCs out of this gun without any issues.

I measured them and they are .452 so I might try backing off the crimp.

Any suggestions?

Keyholing is usually the result of under pressure. Reducing the crimp will make that worse.

The load was 4.3 gr.o 231under a 200 SWC that I had loaded for a Glock 36. They failed to feed in my .45 compact tac, accuracy was poor and they keyholed. The previous poster is very likely to be correct.

The rounds I made yesterday were pretty hot.

200 grain LSWC, 5.0 grains of TG, 913 fps

So since it may be due to under pressure I guess lowering the charge may not help.

I have the crimp set the same for my 185s and other 45 bullets so I am not sure why it is only these 200s.

Bullet is hitting the target sideways.

I noticed that some of these bullets had extra or sloppy lead around the ring at the bottom.

Would this slight amount or deformtity be enough to throw the bullet off during flight?

It sounds like you've got a poor batch of bullets. If they aren't round, they will shoot poorly. If there are voids in the base, the will shoot poorly. Do you have any Unique? If they won't shoot over 6gr of Unique, they won't shoot.

After looking at the 200 SWCs again I noticed that the ones with too much material around the groove are also slightly off center.

The circle right under the cone is not even on one side.

It's almost like the bullets dripped so when you seat them the cone is actually pointing at an angle.

The guy said he will send me replacements since it's a bad batch.
