WTF is up with Wolf Ammo?

I just spent 3 hours with fellow XD shooters at the Southeast Wisconsin area Range Day (a total blast, but..) and I'm frustrated with the Wolf ammo I was using. I'd say that almost 10% of the 300 rounds of Wolf ammo I used would fail to camber, nose down on the ramp. It also seemed tight in the magazine while loading. WTF? The WWB and S&B worked just fine. This Wolf stuff is just crap. Stainless magazines and steel casings don't get along? Are these bullets too long for the mags? I have the 13 round 45ACP factory mags. I reduced the failures by beating the crap out of the mags on a hard surface to jog the bullets to the back. Normally I just slap my mags in my hand and this is enough. I NEVER had this problem with the S&B and WWB.

How old is your gun? If it is BRAND new it may just need a few slap bang rack bangs to get it going well I did have a magazine that gave me fits in the beginning but, it was every round from that mag.

My XD45 ACP TAC is about 6 months old and has about 1,000 rounds through it now. I was using 6 mags in rotation and it seemed that they all suffered from the problem.

I dunno. I've only had a couple of problems with wolf ammo and it was the older green laquer cases. The new gray ploymer cases seem to work great in mine. I'd still be shooting it now if I hadn't started reloading.
Sorryabout your bad experence..

some guns just don't like certain ammo. There is no easy answer. Is there something about the batch of ammo you had? or the batch your firearm was built in? who knows.

I've put a couple hundred rounds of wolf 9mm thru my XD's to see if tehy would handle them. So far they have. Accuracy was the usual piss poor compared to winchester, remington and especially fiocchi, but they all functioned.

Exact opposit with my 2 USP 45's, nearly one out of 2 rounds wouldn't chamber. It was awful. Today I use wolf only in AK's, SKS' and Uzi's. Between the poor accuracy and potential for damage in most firearms it makes no sense for me to save a penny or two a round on that junk.

Wolf ammo is blasting\plinking ammo. You don't want to adjust your sights based on Wolf Ammo.

Just take it for what it is, cheap ammo. After you finish struggling with Wolf ammo, you should fire a couple\few mags of PD\good ammo just to "reset your zero", before using your firearm for defense.

Wolf is cheap blasting ammo, but don't count on it for much more than that.

It's always gone boom in my polymer pistols. Some complain that if it's really hot the sealant becomes sticky and messes up the internals for feeding and firing. It's hot here in TX and I've yet to see it happen in a polymer.
I bought 2K round of it a few years back and am just about to polish it all off without any issues

Kinda off topic but I noticed on Midway USA today that WOLF now has primers out on the market for reloading.
