XD 40 SC range rounds...what are the best to use?
I just purchased the XD .40 SC and want to know the best rounds to use for the range; I've been told to stay away from lead rounds and use jacketed...any particular brand? I've heard that WalMart carries some good but inexpensive ammo.

There is also steel cased rounds such as CCI Blazer and Wolf, but if you want to use them or not is up to you. I have before, and they work fine.

+1 on what matt says, I also use UMC in bulk packages it is a little cheaper by the round if cost is a problem. Get a box of 250 or so and you will save money in the long run.

CCI Blazer is aluminum, and it works fine. But the cheapest you can.

I use Remington S&W .40 - the box of 250 rounds.
The real cheap stuff is just nasty - leaves my gun filthy. And I clean my gun at least every 300-500 rounds, but the ultra cheap stuff is nasty. |

Wal Mart
Winchester white box at wal mart. you cannot beat the price for range ammo. I get 100 9mm for $15. This is jacketed ball ammo.

I've switched from the WWB to CCI Blazer Brass which is also at Walmart. IMO, it shoots much cleaner than the WWB and have had no FTF or other issues with it. Besides that it is also thankfully cheaper at Walmarts in the Austin area at $7,57 per box of 50.
