Thanks Fraggle

Fraggle.

That web page you offered is full of great information. It obviously took some work on your part and we should all be thankful for your help.

I have the XD-9 SC as my carry gun and keep both the 147 Gr. Winchester SXT and 124 Gr. Federal Hydra-Shok on hand.

I did alot of research on ammo before buying, but some data was "iffy" at best. Your web page reinforced my decision and I can only say Thank You for doing that.

Sure, there's always going to be something better than what I've chosen, but the bottom line is that it's ME who has to be satisfied with the choices ... and I am.

Regards from Houston!

I think winning a gun fight is more than who has the most expensive gun or ammo. I'm sure it helps to be the one that fires first but you need to have the right state of mind.

i agree, i think most self defense ammo is going to be capable of stopping the threat if the shooter is capable of putting the rounds where they need to go.

TravWest, I'm delighted you enjoyed my site and I'm even happier it helped you feel confident in your decision. The entire reason I put the site up to the public was to share knowledge with the community.

Thank for recognizing the time, effort and not to mention the expense this little project ended up costing me.

I almost completed the denim testing this past weekend but it rained buckets over here in West TX. I'll get to it as soon as I can.

Check back with the site for updates next weekend or so.

Choices for Self Defense, Home Protection or General Carry (IMHO)

Tell that to folks in New Jersey. There are states that restrict ammo sales to civilians, fortunately though they are very few.

that's different. new jersey doesn't ban or restrict one particular make and model so to say, new jeresy citizens are not allowed to use hollow points in self defense at all, ever. i've heard they aren't even allowed to have them at all. but that's ALL hollow points. not one round from one manufacturer.

Personally, I think that you are nit picking on that one but OK. I'll have to dig around some at home but I do know that there are certain states where you can't buy "LEO Only" if you are a civilian, I just can't remember which and I don't have access to my information right now.

The SXT line works just fine from all of my 45's... I've read nothing but good things about it too...

As far as cavity and pedals go, I see no difference from my origional Black Talons for the 45.
