So Did I Score On Brass?

A local pawn shop that has a 2 lane indoor range had a bunch of brass on hand.

I paid $40 for the following:

My buddy who reloads said that it is about 120 pounds at least.

I sorted for about an hour by myself and only reduced the big white tub by about 1.25".

I was going to be a hoard and keep it all for myself but I think I need my buddy's help sorting or I will be there for about 2 weeks.

It's mostly 40, 9, and 45 with some 38/357 and random other smaller calibers.

Not too bad right?

You did well. Is it too early to ask you how much you want for your .38/357?

if anyone in in new jersey, or close by, I saw some really good prices on some brass, it was 700.00 for 1000 lbs of 9mm and .223, and 17 55 gallon drums full of .38, 9mm, .40, .357, .45, and .223 for like 6500 bucks. Thats some bulk brass...its too bad they wont sell the drums individually...

According to a story in the paper today used brass without the primers can fetch about 1.73 per pound. How much might you be asking for some 45 brass for say around a thousand of em?

Got to admit every time I go to a certain indoor range I dump about 1/2 the bucket of brass into my range bag. I'm getting quite a collection and am going to have the kids sort it out for me when I get into reloading.

I am on a mission to sort this by next week so then I will have a better idea of how many cases I have.

A buddy wanted to split it with me but it just seems like a lot of work for just me to sort it and then give half of it away.

Having someone help for 3 hours as opposed to me doing it for 15 just doesn't seem even.

If you find any 45 Colt, would you be willing to sell it?

Sweet deal BTW

the story about the dumbass shooting himself while taking apart loaded ammo with a hammer said the recycler is paying $1.70 a pound so... $204 worth of brass. I'd say good job!
