I still use a vernier a times, but mostly a dial

Here's a stock pic of mine, but imagine it's got the light gray dial instead of black.



Brown & Sharpe. I paid about $100 for mine about nine years ago when I was getting into aviation and have been totally pleased ever since. You can really feel the quality when you use it--like Swiss watch smooth. Good stuff.

I have a nice B&S dial caliper. It stays in the drawer most of the time while I use my easy to read cheapo ebay digital caliper. I've checked it against a couple of gauge blocks from Starrett, and it seems to be right on the money. I don't reload, so take that for what it's worth

Yes they do, they also look like some of the ones offered by Harbor Freight Tools.

Just like Costco, slap the kirkland name on something and its some how costs less.
