No, but Hornady ammo is top notch in my book. I find Hornady to be of high quality and it's my favorite US ammo company. Hornady makes some odd ball calibers, which is great for those searching for ammo. My friend bought some Hornady 6.5 Japanese ammo and it shoots well out of his rifle.

I do like their ammo myself. I guess my real concern is since it's at such a higher velocity{.303} than the regular loads would it still be as accurate with my twist rate and I'm a little worried about barrel wear.

I wouldn't shoot these in an Enfield. The rear locking is weaker than front locking & you are likely to spring the bolt increasing headspace.

I would pass on hotter loads in the Lee Enfield action.

First, it was not designed for these pressures. Its not a 98 Mauser or Arisaka, both of which handle overloads better than the Enfield action.

Second, the lighter bullets (150 vs the standard 174gr Mk7 round) will play hell with sight regulation. Combine this with the slow rate of twist of the Enfield's barrel and you'll play hell trying to get good accuracy out of those rounds. Good idea...but not very practical.

If you need more ooomph...switch to another rifle. Otherwise, the 303 works pretty damn good on deer and wild pigs, using Federal 150 soft points or Remington 170gr soft points. Practice with these loads first, to get you sights regulated - they'll hit in different places than Mk7 ball ammo.

I have used Federal 150gr 303s alot and they're pretty accurate. No need stressing the old Enfield action on some hot ammo it was not designed for.

I pretty much stay away from Light Magnum ammo in my military action rifles...even the Mausers that could probably take it. They work just fine with their standard loads. If you want to use Light Mags in a modern Remington 700, Mod 70 Winchester or MkV Weatherby - go for it. In a 60+ year old Enfield? I'll pass.

I really appriciate the input guys. I kind of figured it wouldn't be the best idea. I just wanted to hear others thoughts on it. The reg Hornady 150gr soft point shoots great in my gun{avgs under an inch at 100yds}. Rem 180gr Core-Lockts work great too. Lately I've messed aroun with Wolf's Gold line 150gr SP and it shoots pretty good. I haven't done any real bench rest work with it yet though.
