Ammo gloat?

A buddy that I mostly trust has a guy comming to town this weekend with a ton or 2 of milsurp 45 acp that is from the 70's. The story is he was got it at a base that auctioning off surplus and he got the ammo. The price is $5 for 50 rounds (I plan to buy 4K). I have never bought milsurp so what should I look for as far as determoning quality.

Surplus is a coin flip, ussually pretty good quality. I'd say REAL surplus ammo is a good buy.

I've fire it through my XD Service with no problems. Occasionally I ran into a dead primer - good solid primer strike with no fire. Somtimes it will go off the second time, sometimes it's just a dud, but that only happened about 1 in 100 rounds. As far as FTE, FTF, etc. no issues at all through XD.

I will buy as much as you want but you need to come pick it up with in 2 weeks. I am in Carlsbad (just turn left when you get to the middle of nowhere).

HAHAHa that's a little ways to drive from Jacksonville, North Carolina. Maybe if I was out at WTI in Yuma I would "escape" for a day to try to come out there and ship it back UPS to my house.

No UPS depot in Carlsbad you have to drive to Roswell to drop a "special" UPS package.
