If you have an Academy sports and outdoors go buy up some Monarch. YOu can get 1000 rnds for less than 100 bucks (4.86 a box of 50).

This depends on where you are at. I've seen it back home (Texas) a while back a for 12 bucks a box and then here I think the price is close to 14 dollars a box.

To me that isn't a deal. You are still looking at paying over 150 dollars for 1k rounds of 9MM this isn't including the taxes you would have to pay or if they even have 1k rounds of WWB in stock.

You're right I use Monarch 9 mm for my XD SC at 5.89 a box of 50 it makes good range ammo. Only problem I have with it is that the XD feed ramp gets a build-up of carbon residue that takes some cleaning to get off. It tends to "cake" so I'm wary of FTF or FTE. I usually shoot around 150 to 200 rounds at a time and no problems yet. I can't say the same for a box of 100 loose Winchester 9 mm rds., I bought at Bass Pro for 10.89, I had 3 FTE's within 20 rds. of each-other. I put the rest of the box away for plunking ammo.

Friday I bought 50 rds each of the Monarch Russian (steel case) the Monarch Serbien (brass case) & the Blazer (aluminum case). All three functioned flawlessly through the XD-9. While cleaning after the range visit I did not notice any difference from any other ammo I've used.

what i saw today..FYI

WWB 115 gr 100 round pack at WallyWorld $14.86
Blazer 115 gr 50 rounders at our new Acadamy $5.86
WWB 147 gr HP 50 rounds $14.88
WWB 124 gr FMJ 50 rounds $9.88

I'm debating keeping my XD9 and letting go of something else. i had zero FTF or stoppages today and I shot blazer and WWB 115s, WWB 124s and 147s...made me think...

come to think of it..i have yet to have a FTF or Stoppage of any sort wiht respectable accuracy with any Blazer 'beer cans' in .40, .45 or 9mm...

isn't that better on the XD than steel cased Russian?

Please refrain from posting Academy's ammo prices as it tends to PISS OFF those of us who don't have an Academy store within several hundred miles!
