I will work on that. It's catching the top of the case it seems like. I don't know. I'll clean them both as they need it and then try again. I just realized that even shooting the starting load of CLAYS, I'd be over IDPA and USPSA Production min. pf. So I could probably reduce the 3.2gr. Eh, I'll wait a little while and eventually chrono it. Shooting an estimate 137pf isn't bad and I shouldn't have to worry too much about qual.

If its 137 PF I would leave it there. Your going to be knocking down steel real well and you know you'll make the chrono. Just chorno it again when it gets warmer to make sure your not going up or down to much, I think clays may actually go down the warmer it gets.
Also measure the top of the brass of a finished round I would like to know what your crimp is.

I'll measure it when I make some more. It's the weekend so, like usual, I'm getting my 40 hours in so I'm not going to make any tonight or tomorrow but maybe Monday. Tuesdays off has been range day lately. i just bought Power Pistol (still trying to find the starting load numbers, I've found the max but want more details so I can guesstimate my numbers until I can get a chrono) a few hundred more primers. I only have about 150 Berry's 180gr TC bullets left so I bought about 100 Rainier 165gr FP to try out also. See how it feels. So much to explore and try. I'm just trying to take it one step at a time. The TG load for major isn't that bad. I shot of the remaining factory ammo I've had for a while and DAMN!!! I forgot how much of a bark this thing has after shooting a few hundred CLAYS rounds. When I hook my phone up to the computer I'll try to get one of my best 5 from 7 yards (well, 4 shot groups - I pulled the 5th round up). They are left of the target but that's my trigger control. My bad.
![]() If anyone has load data or information as to where I can find load data for Alliant Power Pistol please let me know. I have Rainier 165gr FP and Berrys 180gr TC to load.

Clays is such a fast burning powder that it can be VERY dangerous in a .40 and there are so many better options that offer a much larger safety cushion. I personaly load jacketed bullets in the 180 grain flavor using 4.7 grains of VV320 and load them out to where they just fit in the mags. I use this load for my wife in her XD Tactical and for my STI. Its a clean burning, accurate load and produces 167-169 power factor depending on the chrono. If you want a mouse fart load, just drop it down, I think 3.5 makes minor but I would have to check my data back at the house.

I hear VV is nice but I can't find it or afford to ship it in any quanity. I would use clays for minor if I could, not major. For major I would have to use 3.5 and thats the cap. I just can't get my measure to throw that lite a charge reliably. When useing 3.0 you have to 3.5 with a 180 according to hodgdon. Titegroup I make major at around 4.3 with 4.7 being the cap, but minor is only 3.3 for me so there is a lot of leway.
