Reloading Hand Tool vs Bench Press
20-30 years ago my brother brought over a hand reloading too. Sort of a large pair of pliers into which various dies could be screwed. It was slow but effective.
Now I'm without my bench-mounted reloading tools for an extended period of time. I'm looking into reloading just .45 ACP aboard our boat using such a hand tool (plus the other items). A bench press mounted in the engine room is feasible but dropping a live primer into the bilge would be an annoying chase. Also, I'd have to take down the press every time we got underway to assure access to the engines, fuel panel, etc. So, does anyone know of a source for such a hand reloading tool? The other items required for reloading I can get from our storage in TX or buy locally in FL. I've ruled out Lee's hand loading set which depends on lots of hammering ... too noisy in the confines of our boat. Thank you. |

hand press
I think the Lee hand press part number 90685 might be just what your looking for. Works somewhat like an oversized nut cracker. Two handles force a piston up and down. no hammer needed.

Thanks
Rwilson452,
That sounds like the ticket. I'll check it out. |
