So I need somewhere to get inexpensive ammo for my AK-47. I picked up 500 rounds at the gun show and I've almost eaten through all of it already

To make a long story short;
All the dirt cheap ammo came from old military stocks and the Wolf factories. The military stocks have been mostly run thru and the Wolf factory is sending most of their production over to the middle east.

A little while back, there was none to be had at any price. Now the supply is easing, but the prices haven't come back down. We can only hope that the price eventually comes back, even though it will never be as cheap as it was.

If you're into accuracy, that Barnaul Silver Bear FMJ (as sold on AIM) proved to be the most accurate steel-cased FMJ I ever tried. I ran a bunch of different stuff through an SAR-1 that I fiddled with for a couple of years, and the Silver Bear would regularly shoot into 4" at 200 meters (five shots) from a cold barrel; perfect light, no wind, etc.

Get the barrel hot & accuracy would go south pretty fast.

Like night and day, Barnual (3 Bears, Monarch, and RAM) will out do Wolf everytime.

For me (to Hampton, Va) its $10 per case to certain weight but I order so much from them at a time when I order, I get a break on shipping.
