Magsafe Ammo

Does the 96gr 45acp magsafe have stopping power, compared to the 230gr corbon?

I believe the intent of that round was to control over penetration. I would stick to a heavy hitting load over these. That is my opinion.

Magsafe ammo is not in the same class as the CorBon 230+p. The Magsafe bullet is designed to fragment and break up where as the Nosler bullet used in the 230+p is designed to expand. Magsafe ammo is much more expensive and some have found it to be inaccurate, or so far above or under the sight picture because of its speed that they don't think it is very good unless you are very close to the target. The claims of Magsafe ammo are pretty cool, but I have yet to see any real 3rd party testing. You might want to check out

There is some really good reading here.

The Magsafe ammo is a pre-fragmented design for when you must absolutley minimize penetration and prevent over penetration.

It seems to work pretty well on un-ubstructed chest shots, but it is not a good general purpose carry round.

Mag Safe is expensive, and with that light of a bullet you need to test a bunch of rounds (at least 1-200) to verify reliability and point of impact.
