Best Factory Loads for .270?

Looking to break in a barrel, thinking the Remington Controlled Recoil or whatnot, the weak stuff...

However, after the initial 300 rounds or so, Im going to want to hunt with this gun. I don't handload. Any suggestions on factory ammunition that is consistant? Im thinking Winchester Supreme, Black Hills Gold, or Hornady. If anyone has firsthand experience with any of these, or has a suggestion on another set, please post up.

Thanks

Aaron

My personal favorite is the Hornady 140gr BTSP Light Magnum.

Tikka Lites have reputations for being merciless on the shoulder, those things will break mine :P

I will look into those more, they caught my interest while looking through Hornady's cataloge. I do love Hornady in the XD...

They pack quite a wallop from a Savage Model 110. No complaints about effectiveness downrange

For whatever it's worth, I (also) shoot a .270 Winchester and I tried a new cartridge (at least for me anyway) this past weekend. Since my whitetail deer hunting area doesn't have me shooting any further than 100 yards (most often around 50 or less) I opted to try the Federal Powershock .270 145 gr FP LOW-RECOIL factory load. I was extremely pleased that it grouped to within an inch and a half at 100 yards and the recoil wasn't as punishing at the standard 130 gr .270's. Oh sure, the velocity was about 25% less but that's of no consequence in my shooting area. For someone that isn't shooting down powerlines out to 100-300 yards it is a fine performer.

Powershock Low recoil is what my father uses in his 7400...I dont understand how his cycles the rounds, mine would jam with them...

He always claimes that "you don't need those high powered overloaded rounds to kill a deer" and bought the cheaper low recoil ones...he sights in with Winchester Supremes though...go figure...

Since my new rifle is a bolt, I wont have to worry about cycling the round...I think Im going to dip into dad's stockpile o' federal.
