Sorry I don't know the answer to your question but why would you need a compressed charge, +P, for .45. Isn't half an inch of lead going down range, into bad guy, good enough

Think about it this way WWB is about 190 power factor. The loads we are required to shoot at matches are only 170 power factor. Thats a 230 grain bullet going 725fps. The WWB is about 850fps. I would say the +P is around 950-1000fps.

Sorry I'm talkative tonight lol.

My XD 45 carry/defense gun is currently loaded with 200 +P gold dots. I like them. I was using 230 golden sabres but shoot the carry ammo from time to time and try out different types. I like them and have not had the gun explode, so it seems to be fine.

+P is a SAAMI standard.

As long as you are using ammo made by a SAAMI member company in a gun made by a SAAMI member company, there should be no problems, Unless the manufacturer of the gun says not to use +P ammo.

Why would anybody think that .45ACP +p is a "compressed charge?"

I have no idea, but from everything I've read and heard your XD-45 is good to go with +p ammo. I've shot some in my pistol and didn't have any issues whatsoever either.

I emailed SA and asked them about it, and they said it's fine to use +p in the XD.
