Fiochhi 9mm ammo
Was out at the range yesterday putting holes in paper. For range I usually use WWB 115s but ran out (surprise, surprise) and got some Fiochhi 9mm. Shot fine but what is weird is it puts almost as big a hole in the paper as my .45 does. Normally at 7 yards I can tell which holes are from my .45 and which are from my 9mm. No way with the Fiochhi and I honestly wasn't sure when I brought the targets back in. I mean the holes look like the bullet is tumbling through the air almost. Weird. Is it just me and the missus, someone in the next stall shooting .45s into my target, 9mm advocates trying to get me carry a 9 instead of my .45??
Odd, very odd......

*Shrug*
I just shot 100 WWB 9mm and 50 Fiocchi 147g today. Could not tell them apart, either ballisticly or on the paper. Got a deal on 1000 of them after the last Mustang Range machinegun shoot. They were using them for the UZI's and had a couple of thou left over. I'm down to about 300, as I still shoot the WWB quite often.

Yeah, I use Fiocchi alot in my .45. Took 2K up to some training. Nice ammo and got it for a great price (for .45
The 9mm shot fine. It was just weird. I expected small holepunches with my 147JHPs as I think for some reason JHPs cut the paper as they go through instead of just punching a hole in it.

400 rnds, no problems...
A buddy and I used about 400 Fiocci rounds each on a trip earlier in the year.
No Failures at all. Was running them thru a G17 at the time. He had an XD. I'd like to pick up some. Jim |
