Incendiary Ammo?

I recently found some 40 S&W Incendiary Ammo and was wondering if it would be ok to shoot it through my 40 service model. Will it harm my gun? I called a local gun shop and asked about it but they don't carry any. They did say that it was legal to buy it but not to own it. What do they mean by that? thanks in advance.

Same thing with car tints. It's not illegal to buy window tint. It's not illegal to install it on your car. It's just illegal to drive around with it on (in most states).

But people do it anyway

Before you shoot it at your range, be it indoor or outdoor, ask the range first if it's OK to shoot the stuff there.

No it will not hurt the gun.

Mmm...I'll pass. Although, in a target competition it would certainly improve your score, 'cause the holes would be a LOT bigger (if you count a burned-up target as a 'hole' breaking the 10-ring)

Incendiary Ammo.........

My experience with Incendiary Ammo at one of
the ranges that I use went like this -

it was not .40S&W, but someone fired off a few rounds
on the rifle range, believe it was .308, and it started a
fire that burned over eight acres, and caused around $40
thousand in damage. The guy is still in court because of
his actions. Lesson: be smart, be responsible.

But if you are smart and responsible and still shoot it, take a video
