Where can I find 300 Blackout rounds?

Just as the title says, I've acquired a new rifle that is chambered in 300 AAC but I can't seem to find any ammo for it right now. If anyone has a lead on some rounds I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!!!

Keep checking Brownell's for Cooper Cartridge .300 Blackout ammo. Cooper is a friend of mine and is shipping about 20k rounds to them this week.

Reloading for it should be a lot easier. There aren't many manufacturers for it since it's still somewhat of a wildcat cartridge. The beauty of it is that there's plenty of people making reloading equipment for it, and the biggest thing you need is the basic die set (resizer/decapper + seating), which Forster, Redding and Lee all make. It uses a necked-down .223 case so getting a case sizer and trimmer is easy, plenty of people make them. And since it uses a standard .308 bullet, getting the pills for them is also fairly simple.

Plus, if you reload, you can choose whether you want the lighter, supersonic rounds or the heavier, subsonic rounds.

Re: Where can I find 300 Blackout rounds?

.308 bullets are hard to find from what I hear.

You'll need more than a trimmer for converting .223/5.56 to .300 Blackout. I'm using a Harbor Freight 2" cutoff saw for cutting the cases back to 1.375", then trim the sized cases to 1.368"

Typically, yes. You can use a case trimmer to cut down .223 to .300BLK, but it will take more time. A simple chop saw can cut off the bulk, with a trimmer taking care of the rest.

Prepared brass isn't *too* hard to find (Brad's Warehouse has a bunch, plus trim dies). .308 bullets can be difficult to find, but really no more so than any other bullet right now.

It'd sure take a lot of trimming to take .4" off a .223 case. I'm using the new Lee Quick Trim on a Rockchucker for trimming .223 brass. I've contacted Lee and strongly suggested that they make a .300 Blackout trim die for their Quick Trim system.
