Exactly what I was thinking. Most everywhere I went prior to SH was about $12/box for 9mm. Not sure how that guy can say $17/box is double the typical going price.

Went back in today, and noticed that the PMC 9mm on a different shelf had a different price. It is actually $14.99 for a 50 round box. $13.49 for the Aguilla.

The shortage in ammo is not mainly in handgun or even rifle (hunting) ammunition.

The shortage is in the 223 or the 5.56 rounds that go in an AR.
The next shortage is in 308 winchester or 7.62 which are sniper rounds.
Finally the third shortage is no in 22lr.

What is the commonality of those rounds. They can go in various guns with high capacity magazines. Additionally, in times of war or civil unrest, the 223/5.56, the 308/7.62 are rounds that one would want, especially if combating military forces.

I can get plenty of 9mm and other rounds just like you can. Heck I can get plenty of other hunting calibers like 243, 270, 300,30-06. But guns we have that use those calibers (for hunting) only have capacities of 4-5 rounds. Big Difference.

All ammo is in short supply around here. 5.56/.223 is the hardest hit, with 9mm, 45 Auto, and .308 all also hard to find. 40 S&W is less popular, but it's still flying off the shelves.

I can't find 9mm anywhere unless I catch walmart on the same day they came in. PD 9mm is even more elusive. I don't have any problem buying .45ACP or .380.

Walmart, Dicks, Bass Pro, Gander, Farm & Fleet... all limiting what they have NONE of... some ranges are limiting purchases to range use only and then to a 1-2 boxes per calibre...
