Just left the local bass pro. They did have some ammo, but the shelves have never been more bare. I drop in once a week just to take a look, and things were better today than I've seen in a month.

They also have no idea what calibers are coming in. So if you are WalMart dependent, you just have to go there on their deivery day & hope, really, start reloading, if for no other reason the not having to go to Wally.

Just went to a local academy sports in el Paso and their shelves were pretty stocked. Also had boxes of 500 .45. Only thing that sucked was they put a limit on .223 only 2 boxes per day but I found some hornady 50 round boxes for 29 bucks and picked up two of them. Walked out spent 200 on ammo... good day for me

Yeah the one I went to is on the east side almost in Mexico. It might be disheartening to drive 4 hours to find it being gone.

Man, 60c each for 223 is painful. I am glad I stocked up on keeper ammo before the election. My shooting ammo is almost always handloaded.

In SE Missouri most calibers are scarce. Even saw a guy at WM get rejected on .22 long rounds.

For those that didn't experience this is 2009, there are many months to come before the panic subsides. If you shop at Walmart, your best bet is to stumble across ammo that has been restocked overnight. Stop in on your way to work, but do it early. 6:00AM seemed to work for me, probably because many people were too lazy to get up that early.
