Winchester Ranger Bonded and PDX 1

Is there a difference between the Winchester Ranger Bonded 230 gr. .45 ACP round and the Winchester PDX 1 Bonded 230 gr. .45 ACP round and if so, what is it?

Really?

I had read somewhere that the PDX1 was an upgrade of the older Ranger Bonded round.

Either way, I wouldn't worry about it, a 230 gr. bonded JHP in .45 ACP will get it done!

The original bonded looked like any regular cheap jhp. The PDX1 looks like a SXT.

They do look alike.

I went to my range today and compared the appearance of the two rounds - PDX1 and Ranger Bonded in .45 ACP 230 gr. and they look identical. Same width and depth to hollow point, same design of hollow point, etc. So why the two different names if they're identical? Ranger Bonded and PDX1?

Ranger is a product line of ammo. Any load added to that line takes on the name.

Sorry, please clarify

I'm not clear on what you're saying about the name. I understand the Ranger Bonded taking on the Ranger name (like the Ranger T series) as it illustrates on the box. But then why doesn't the PDX1 have Ranger on the box?

If they put Ranger on the PDX box then it becomes restricted sale to Goverment only by Winchesters rules.
