5.45 Surplus?
Hi everyone,
I just got a Saiga Sporter in 5.45 and I am having trouble finding bulk surplus ammo that is in stock. I have looked at aimsurplus, sgammo, ammotogo, etc. Does anyone have any advice where I could pick some up? Thanks!

I searched as well and had problems. However, I've found it at ammoman.com and they had decent reviews online. Just another option...

It looks like the average for the 1,080 spam cans will be $165+ once it starts coming back in stock (assuming that happens) from various sources. That's still cheaper than just about any centerfire ammo but it makes me glad I stocked up at about $129 a can while I could! On the bright side, even the Wolf, silver/brown bear, etc. new ammo is still fairly cheap in this caliber. My saiga 5.45x39 is one of my favorites and it's nice not worrying about chasing down brass when I shoot this caliber.

Thanks for all the responses guys. Luckily, I found someone locally who stocked up and is willing to sell my a crate for what he paid for it.

Best stock up. There used to be scads of 7.62x25 tok ammo out there that would never dry up . Now it's harder and harder to find.

Remember the surplus stuff is corrosive so clean your rifle correctly after shooting the stuff.
It is, in my AR15, very accurate. Surprisingly accurate considering what I thought I'd get after shooting AK's and surplus 7.62X39 ammo. But then I've read that many people with the 5.45X39 AK74 get better accuracy that the larger caliber rifles.
