Noobie ? - is it worth it to save brass???
A guy in the lane next to us asked if I was saving the brass from the .38 spl? I said nope sorry buddy it's all over the line now. What am I missing out on here? It wasn't a large amount of spent casings. I don't reload personally. Is it really worth it? Sorry for being the total noob but I would welcome the education. Thanks to any who respond.

I usually respond with lots of smiling and don't say anything. If they continue to bother me I might say something like "Meatloaf!" or "Goonie Goo-goo!" and go back to shooting.
I hate brass rats.

Yep, hang on to all brass... you will find before long, if you shoot much, that you will have an interest in reloading ...

Absolutely! Even if your not reloading or planning to do so, that brass can be sold. That's $$ in the bank either way.

I reload and save all of mine, as well as any other good brass I find. I use a State Game Commission public range and many people just leave their mess behind, so I try to always leave with a few hundred pieces of brass or more. My parents told me to return property in better condition than it was when I got it, so I try to always clean up more than my share.
I make a point to let people shoot in peace. If they leave without their brass, I'll gather it then.

I would note that sometimes it is not up to you because of range rules. Some ranges do not have rules concerning brass so pretty much anything goes within safety rules. Others allow you to only pick up brass you brought in with you. And still others do not allow you to retrieve any brass, period.

save every round you can. i think someday there will be a shortage of brass which will lead to big $$$$$ selling it.
