Good price for a Dillon 550?

Is this a good price or should I low ball an offer back?
Got offered this today for $500

Dillon Precision RL550B Progressive Reloader

. 9MM undersized resizing die
. 9MM Lee Deluxe Handgun 4 Die Set
. Frankford Arsenal Vibra-Primer
. Strong mount
. Bullet tray
. Frankford Arsenal bullet puller
. Two cartridge case bins
. Small and large primer pickup tubes
. Dust cover
. Excellent condition

I was planning on saving up for a 650 and growing into it. Adding a case feeder and all other parts it needs as I decided it needed them.

It's OK but not a great deal. I believe the press runs about $400 plus $40 for the dies, $30 for the cover, $25 for the puller, $10 for the bins which gives you $505 ish. Not sure what the Vibra Prime or the seating die run but I assume they are probably $30 each so you would be looking at $565 ish plus tax and shipping for new gear. If you buy from Brian Enos shipping is free for at least the Dillon stuff.

Dillons are for sure awesome. I decided to buy the hornady progressive because the press was around $370 and then they give you almost $200 worth of free bullets.

So spend $600 bucks on a dillon or

spend $170 on the hornady?

I really wanted a 650 cause I thought it would be better to grow into. The 650 new is 694 with mount, tray, and roller handle. With all the bells and whistles its just over $1000. I figured I could add case feeders and powder alarms as I decided I needed them but this offer came up and didn't know if I should jump on it or not.

I shoot way too much to not make my own ammo. I shoot 1,000-2,500 rounds a month between 9mm and 5.56.

Dillons hold their value pretty well. The Vibra Primes are spendy since they don't sell them anymore. Seen them go for over $100 on Ebay in the past. If you buy the setup for $500 you can sell it off for the same or possibly a little more. You can get it and use it and see if it suits your needs.....if not sell it off and get the 650.

Looks like a fair deal I wanted a 650 but got a 550 on a great deal and am very happy with it. Would have liked the 5th hole but don't miss it. Also conversion kits are half the cost.

How many rounds an hour do you think you can pump out?

THe price is fair, get it for $450, it's a good deal if you don't have to pay shipping, shipping always matters. If not, I would pass & save for the 650. You can buy just the press & add case feeder later, but it really isn't faster than a 550B then.
The 550B will easily load you 450rds/hr sustained. You can go a bit faster on short runs, like 100rds in 10min. The 650 w/ case feeder is an honest 700rds/hr sustained, short runs of 100rds in 7min is possible. The LNL is a good machine, but not a 650, just not in the same league w/o some tinkering. The 650 primer feed is superior as is the case feed. It's a progressive, so the auto features need to be near flawless or your rate/volume goes down. WHy I NEVER recommend the Lee. The free bullets never got me excited either, they don't let you choose, you get what they have.
