There is no such thing as .357sig+P, despite what some ammo manufacturers claim. Basically, they're loading it to the raggedy edge of over pressure.

I wouldn't touch it.

+1000. The 357sig is already smoking hot, why even consider?

I think you missed where I said "despite what some ammo manufacturers may claim"...

I'll stand by my original statement.

I don't care what ANY ammo manuf lists on their site. there is no SAAMI spec for +P 357sig. It's a marketing gimmick. Yes, it's probably higher vel than other factory, but you can get there w/o going +P. A +P load denotes highe pressures, not vel, as set by SAAMI. Personnaly, I would shy away from anyone offering something like that, regardless of their skill or knowledge level is supposed to be. I find it a wee bit dishonest as well.

Small, backroom ammo manufacturers don't get to set the standards for the ammo industry. I only found out fairly recently that many, if not most, of such manufacturers don't even own pressure-testing equipment, nor are they required to own such equipment.

Lets not be quick to criticize Underwood Ammo either. I have never seen them list a +P 357 sig load..... Underwood Ammo - 357 Sig

I have shot their stuff and was favorably impressed

I didn't see anyone critisize Underwood. Johnhenry is just wrong, the website does NOT say 357sig+P. Just note, anyone that claims 40+P or 357sig+P is being a bit dishonest unless they have had those rounds pressure tested & can verify the working pressures. Both rounds are already loaded to a very high pressure level. There just isn't much room to add more safely. One can add more vel safely by changing powders, but touting +P just isn't quite right. Not to mention qutoing specs w/o the test paltform is pretty vague, but then all ammo manuf do that.

Just in case the OP didn't know, +P is a reference to the amount of pressure the cartridge produces, not the velocity of the round.
