gold dot vs gold dot short barrel
i plan to buy a xdm-9 compact 3.8 but i feel the 3.8" barrel is in a gray zone. 3.8 is vary close to 4" which i would not consider a short barrel but also close to 3.5" which i know the gdsb is popular with glock shooters that have a g26 or g27. whats your opinion do i go with the sb ammo or non-sb (regular) ammo?

I was looking at a box of the short barrel ammo and my LGS said that it is designed for 3" and shorter.

If you have a chrono, you can see how the performance of each works out.
But ... I doubt that there is a great advantage (or disadvantage depending on how you look at it!) in the use of one over the other. Marketing hype is one thing I try to ignore!
Accurate shot placement is far more important (as long as there is at least 12" of penetration).
